简介：昴是一个热爱芭蕾舞的少女。她拥有极佳先天，却因家道普通而未能就读昂贵的舞蹈黉舍。而感情融洽的挛生弟弟，也在十岁时因病离世。由于两重的遗憾，昴更为伶仃、也更渴望跳舞。天才所散发的毫光终究是无从掩盖的，经营歌舞厅的退休芭蕾老师五十铃便在无意间发明了昴的舞蹈天份，决议赞助她，让昴在舞厅里表演赚取膏火。而看出昴的潜能的不只要五十铃老师，另一个年青的天才舞者Liz Park也凭著「同类的嗅觉」感觉到了。一见到昴，她便知道遇上劲敌，她自动认识昴，并说服她一同加入在上海进行的世纪大赛。 在高手云集的比赛中，昴的表现也渐入佳境。但是就在最终决赛的前夜，东京却传来恶耗：敬爱的五十铃老师心脏病发离世了……
