简介：美丽而骄纵的年青姑娘李琪只身从香港赴纽约攻读大学，并看望先她赴美的男友。李琪发明男友移情别恋，把自己关在房里。满口脏话、粗俗不胜的船头尺，被人看成“烂鬼”。但他对李琪日久生情，起头戒烟戒赌。李琪虽然明白他的情意，却因初恋的创伤尚未愈合，且两人的生活体式格局、思惟、趣味背道而驰，故未表态。秋天时李琪接管远地一份新事情，船头尺黯然相送。多年后，当她旧地重游时，发明船头尺实现了梦想。
