简介：清明细雨中，白、青二蛇化身民女白素贞、青儿，往西湖游玩，得许仙相送一程。素贞宿世为许仙所救，故以借伞为名，施法与许仙成亲，以报相救之恩。厥后，佳耦于镇江开设“葆和堂”药局。山寺法海僧人遇许仙，见其妖气缠身，叮嘱他在端午之日给素贞喝下雄黄酒。白蛇喝后果然现形，把许仙吓得昏过去。素贞救夫心切，往盗仙草，谁料救活许仙后，法海又把许仙骗往金山寺。素贞奔往索夫，施法水淹金山寺，佳耦终在西湖断桥重聚，和洽如初。法海穷追不舍，施法把白蛇降服，镇于雷峰塔下。
