简介：本片根据真实事务改编而成，美国南北战争中，有一支由白人率领的黑人兵团“麻州第五十四兵团”，在南边的查尔斯坦战役中写下了辉煌的一页。根据这个兵团中一些年青将领遗留下来的家信，加上编剧赋予故事角色的生命力，造就出了这么一部优异的电影。全片气氛相当绚丽及动人，尸横遍野的作战排场让人心有余悸，而黑人惨遭虐待的情形则使人不忍落泪。资深摄影师Freddie Franci
